Galle Fort

Sri Lanka’s Galle Fort is both a historical site and a center of culture. The fort was strengthened by the Dutch in the following century after it was constructed by the Portuguese in the 16th century, and it has ramparts with expansive views of the Indian Ocean. In addition to being a museum, Galle Fort is a bustling town where locals sell handicrafts, fruits, and spices. Throughout the year, the fort holds cultural events such as art exhibitions and traditional dance performances. Galle Fort offers a fusion of the old and the new to its visitors.
