Thirukoneswaram Kovil

A prominent Hindu pilgrimage site and a popular destination for tourists interested in Sri Lankan architecture and religious history is Thirukoneswaram Kovil, which is situated in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka. Constructed during the 3rd and 6th century AD, it honors Lord Shiva, one of Sri Lanka’s five Ishwarams. The temple complex includes mandapams, a sacred pond, Chariot Hall, a tower adorned with Hindu deities and themes, and a Vimanam.
